DIY MAKEUP VANITY + HOW TO INSTALL DRAWER SLIDES THE EASY WAY!
I designed and built a DIY makeup vanity for my daughter, but honestly, this piece of furniture is so versatile – it can serve as a desk, console table, accent table… you name it! My daughter is 8 years old, going on 18, so she’s into all things lip gloss and glitter these days (glitter: my arch nemesis) so she needed a proper place to primp.
If you’ve ever struggled with installing drawer slides, keep watching – I’m sharing the EASIEST way to install drawer slides in this video! #vanity #makeupvanity #woodworking
I also shared how I made the vanity mirror with lights, on my blog here: https://jenwoodhouse.com/diy-makeup-vanity-mirror-with-lights/

Do you have trouble installing drawers? Now that I do it this way, drawers are a breeze!
Fast delivery and very good product.
I am currently in this project….. There is a LOT of missing measurements and directions that need to be included. Like where to put the supports and shim space for the drawer. It would also be nice to have some direction on how to fix an out of square frame so my drawer fits correctly…..
Good job you deserve subscription
uh cool but yea i dont have the luxury of having all that fancy equipment lol
I cant find how to get the cut list and full plans!! Help!!!
I can't find the size of the used wood, I need help 💔💔💔
Awesome video, I'm using your plans to make one for my wife. Are you a nurse? Looks like you've got some scrub pants on lol
Ugh, this makes me wanna get into woodworking and buy awesome tools
With all those tools everyone could🤷🏻♀️🤔🤪
Just go to the Stodoys plans website if you want to do it yourself.
Nice when you have all the tools you need!
If you’re going to build your own desk therefore you’re own drawers: once you’re desk or whatever it is your installing drawers and slides into is built, meaning the cabinet is built and if you chose framing or not that it’s all assembled together… to measure for the drawer dimensions place both drawer slides to one side of the empty cavity, add both pieces of plywood to that same side and measure what’s left in the space to the other side of your frame. That’s your drawer dimensions plus you’ll obviously measure the depth or how far back your cavity goes but the trickiest is getting the width of your drawer. Also, when your drawer slides are installed and you place your drawer inside to attach to the drawer slides, first place a thin spacer to lift your drawer 1/8” above the frame it’s resting on as you’ll find out if not held slightly above, it drags and rubs on the frame otherwise. To find better explanations on this very subject check out: DIY Montreal or Fix It Build That. Many, many woodworkers out there on YT Land that demonstrate/educate about any woodworking issue or questions that pop up when first learning to build.
She went to fast I want to follow along but before I knew it she had it put all together 🤨
What size are the drawer slides
you do awesome work🙏🙏
Great work! It came out looking very good!
Instead of using the previous piece to mark the next, just use the first piece you cut. That eliminates the chance of playing "telephone" with your other pieces and passing on variations. Love the vanity! We're going to feature it on this week's episode of our Maker Break Show. Thanks for sharing!
Jen, do you had to put a shim under the drawer box to help lift it a smidge when installing the drawer glides? Great video. Thank you!
The result: a very happy daughter! Well done, Mrs. Woodhouse.
Awesome work Jen! 😃👍🏻👊🏻
Nice job, i love it….!
